Usually the ordinal number is preceded by a definite article (den/det/de) and the noun is in the definite form:

• tiotals = dozens of
• hundratals = hundreds of
• tusentals = thousands of

 

• ett tiotal = dozen
• ett femtiotal = about fifty
• ett hundratal = about a hundred
