Business Director

WordDive is a major EdTech brand in the Nordic countries and Finland's leading language learning application. The brand's revenue will exceed two million euros this year and generate a significant operating profit.

The WordDive brand consists of three products:

  • Online language courses: Learn a new language in three months with web-based courses on your computer. The first WordDive product.
  • Mobile application: driving the growth during recent years.
  • Prep courses: the popular courses for high school students preparing for their final exams, recommended by 96 % of our users.

In early 2021, WordDive Group launched a new Master English brand in the first two markets. As the company now has two businesses, we are looking for a business director for the WordDive brand.

In this position, you will lead the WordDive business strategically forward, with EBITDA and revenue as the most important metrics. You will lead the team focused on WordDive operations, making sure that our customers' needs are understood and taken into account both in the day-to-day operations and on the strategic level.

As the WordDive business director you will be in the heart of a digital business in the very fast-growing EdTech market in a Finnish company. We are a multi-disciplinary team that works ambitiously and at a fast pace to achieve its goals. We also want to make sure that our employees grow and develop with our innovative company.

There are many potential sources of growth for the business – in this position it is essential to make strategic decisions and keep the team’s focus on one or two changes at a time.

Your responsibilities

  • Strategic management of the profitable WordDive business
  • Developing the well-known WordDive brand together with your team
  • Steering day-to-day operations and leading the team that grows with the business
  • Considering customer needs in product development and strategic decisions


  • At least 10 years of relevant work experience
  • An applicable university degree
  • Experience in consumer business
  • Understanding of consumer behavior
  • Understanding of digital marketing
  • Fluent written and oral Finnish and English skills

  • Excellent teamwork and leadership skills
